A Real-Time Digital Twin to Anticipate Port Risks

Duoverse has won the Digital Innovation Award at the 10th Port du Futur Innovation Awards for Onetwin – “Le jumeau numérique temps réel pour anticiper les risques portuaires.”

Organized by Cerema in partnership with the French Ministry for Transport (DGITM), Cluster Maritime Français, Fédération Nationale des Agences d’Urbanisme (FNAU), Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique, Pôle Mer Méditerranée and Ports de France, the awards recognize innovations contributing to the performance, competitiveness and safety of ports.

Presented during the 16th Assises Port du Futur, held on 23–24 September in Strasbourg, Onetwin demonstrated how hybrid digital twins can help port operators better understand and anticipate complex environmental and industrial risks.

By combining physics-based predictive models, frugal AI and real-time data, Onetwin makes it possible to rapidly simulate phenomena such as atmospheric or waterborne pollutant dispersion, accidental releases and changing environmental conditions. The platform is designed to complement existing GIS, sensor networks and digital infrastructure, transforming complex physical simulations into accessible operational decision-support tools.

For port authorities and operators, this approach opens the way to faster scenario assessment, improved emergency preparedness and more resilient infrastructure and operations.

Winning the Digital Innovation Award marks an important recognition of Duoverse's approach: bringing together physics, AI and operational data to make advanced simulation usable in real-world decision-making.

The award also reinforces our ambition to work alongside ports, public authorities and industrial operators to build safer, more resilient and more sustainable port environments.
